Clinical Information & Confidentiality

  • I strongly advise all clients to register with their local hospital to ensure safe access to care if complications arise.

  • For smaller birth packages (e.g., care starting at 32 weeks), you must access care before this stage and be willing to share details.

  • For antenatal education, you must continue midwifery care with your local NHS trust.

In some circumstances during home birth, I may record events and verbalise my care to maintain an accurate record. This will be:

  • transcribed within 24 hours,

  • included in your clinical notes,

  • then permanently deleted.

Your information will remain confidential unless:

  • another provider (e.g., hospital, GP) needs details for safe care,

  • I am legally required to share information (e.g., safeguarding concerns),

  • regulatory or clinical audits require access,

  • you raise concerns requiring investigation.

By signing your care contract, you agree to this.
