From there, we’ll arrange a 30-minute telephone call.

This isn’t a consultation where you are expected to make a decision or commit to anything. It’s simply an opportunity for us to talk.

I will find out a little about you, your pregnancy and what you are looking for from your maternity care. You can ask questions, tell me what is important to you and find out more about how I work as an independent midwife.

Most importantly, there’s no pressure to book.

After our conversation, take some time to think.

You might decide that independent midwifery care isn’t right for you, and that’s absolutely okay. I genuinely believe that choosing your midwife is a personal decision, and you need to feel that the care is right for you.

If you decide not to go ahead, I will simply thank you for getting in touch and wish you all the best for your pregnancy and birth. 🤍

But if you decide that you’d like me to be your midwife, we will take the next step together.

What happens if you decide to book?

We will arrange a second video call to go through everything in more detail.

This is where we will confirm the practicalities of your care, including:

• Your chosen package or appointments

• What your care will include

• Your appointment schedule

• Payment arrangements

• The relevant paperwork and documents

But it is also another opportunity for us to get to know each other better.
